I even joined the newsletter and discord. I *did* get a bit obsessive combing for many many locked chests over the weekend. But I'm enjoying what it is well enough for now. I don't see it sticking with my like the Marvel Super Hero card collection that hooked me for over a year and I don't see me spending money. It's optimizing the self play enough to progress enough to get better results the next time you progress.

I picked this up based on it's free Epic upgrades. Or at least it was in XKCD font with lots of Swedish names. I hadn't tried one since, I think the XKCD one. To get familiars to do most of the helpful things you either have to pony up or grind for hours and hours. There are rudimentary storylines that appear modestly interesting at first, but you're encouraged to play the game AFK, so you never see them. but there's very little attempt at pretense here. Yeah, I get that that holds true for most games in general when you break it down.

You open chests so quickly and in volume that it's uninteresting. I can't imagine wanting to spend money on it. The art style is competent but the animations are horrid. Yeah, I get that's a clicker thing, and this is possibly the first "serious" clicker I've played.īut there's just no payoff here. But it's devoid of context, and the damage and gold numbers multiply so rapidly that they lose all relevance. It absolutely hooked me at first, and the moment-to-moment "gameplay" will suck you in with "just one more upgrade". I've played a few of each, but I find nothing redeemable about this one at all unless D&D is your shiniest bag.
